One Piece Film: Red's latest box office numbers surpass Top Gun

On the strength of 8.6 million tickets sold, One Piece Film: Red has earned more over 12 billion yen (US$87.26 million) on its 26th day of release in Japan.

In the 2022 box office rankings, One Piece Film: Red has also surpassed Top Gun Maverick as the second-highest-earning movie.

One Piece Film: Red is a 2022 Japanese animated fantasy action-adventure movie that was made by Toei Animation under the direction of Goro Taniguchi. 

Yasutaka Nakata wrote the film's music, while Ado and Nakata created the song "New Genesis," which serves as the movie's theme song.


Japan – ¥12 billion (US$87.26 million) France – US$6,067,077 Taiwan – NT$112 million (US$3.69 million) Hong Kong – HK$3.45 million (US$440,000)

Box Office:

The movie won best picture in Taiwan and made NT$57.793 million in its first weekend. It outperformed Jujutsu Kaisen 0's NT$55.83 million opening weekend movie office haul.

As of August 31, the film (One Piece Film: Red) has grossed US$97.4 million worldwide.
